Check out my website to see my creations, use the navigation bar to see my pictures, wine charms and other works.  Having begun with jewelry I am now concentrating on my Steampunk Wall Art whilst still producing Wine Charms but now in smaller quantities

I am excited to report that I am now working and selling in the Spanish Village Art Centre in Balboa Park, San Diego.  As of Jan 1st 2020 my art is in Studio 34B.  My normal days are Sunday and Monday but check in with me first if you really want to meet me as we do swap days about from time to time (my art is there all week).

I've also dragged myself into modern times and you can now also follow me on Instagram, see my QR Code above.  I will be using my Instagram for my steampunk work.

I'm winding down selling my wine charms, making them on request and selling the extras on Etsy (US only) http://www.etsy.com/shop/DenisePinnellDesigns. If you see something you wish to purchase but it's not on Etsy then please send me an email (use the envelope button at the top right) or use the Contact Form here (or on Etsy) with information on which piece(s) you are interested in and I will ensure they go onto my Etsy site.

Shows

Last year I did my first Steampunk Expo in San Diego. What a perfect place it was to show my art!

In March and April 2022 I am showing my work in the library at Cardiff-by-the -Sea.

A piece of that my art work was showing at the cultural institution Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in Berlin, Germany.  The concept of this part of the show was to use a tutorial by Philip Wiegard and I used it for the background adding my steampunk fish proposal to it. The piece is titled "Moonlit Proposal".

In the past Kathy and I have participated in the Encinitas Craft Fair, the Seaside Bazaar (in Encinitas), private home Trunk Shows, our Polymer Clay Guild’s store, a corporate event in La Jolla and at Rancho Bernardo Winery for their annual Spring and Fall Arts and Craft Fairs in May and October.   Use the contact button (top right) if you feel you'd like to host a show and are in the Carlsbad, California area. I also had my work in a local gallery for the past year

About the Artist
I'm from England and moved to Southern California late in 2010.  In England there was plenty of time to be indoors and I have always been passionate about making things, attempting everything from Basket Weaving and Embroidery to Stained Glass, Silver Smithing and even Glass Blowing but nothing has really stuck with me ... until now.  Polymer Clay is amazingly versatile and I just love creating with it.  I have tried some wonderful techniques and have so many more to try out.

My neighbour and good friend Kathy Hepburn (no not the actress) got me going on this and we have great fun seeing each others creations. Check out Kathy's 'earthy' works here!

Awards!
Wow it's been a while and in 2020 I've really focussed in on my style.  Back in 2019, I was still all over the place as you can see from my entries to the Californian Del Mar County Faire.  I entered four items that year and they were mainly wine charms... although you can see my steampunk flare starting to come through. My entry in the "Holidays - Thanksgiving" category (any medium) got 1st prize!  My Theme of the Fair entry got an Honorable Mention. My other entries were in the Polymer Clay section, my miniature cheeses came 2nd in the "other" category and my Steampunk War Horse came 1st in the figurines section and also got best in division.    All are in the Home and Hobby area under the Decorative Arts group. Here they are.
